Xcel Chassis, what we're
all about...
Xcel Chassis: providing affordable racing without
sacrificing the racing itself.
Affordable racing is an oximoron. It just doesn't exist: until now.
First, consider how Xcel Chassis got started.
Xcel Chassis was initially founded as D&G Chassis in 1990 by Doug
and Gene Borger. Doug had already made a name for himself as a very
successful regional go-karter growing up. Graduating into
micro-sprints taught him how to race with a cage. Continuing up the
racing ladder, but short on cash, Doug decided to hand build his
first midget chassis. As exposure grew, cars began rolling out of
the shop. Several wins later, Doug made the move into sprint cars.
Despite building several cars, eventually the excessive costs of
motors, tires and components took its toll. Doug got out of the
money pit (sprint cars) and changed the name of the business to Xcel
Chassis. He vowed to develop an affordable yet exciting racing
series for the average racer who didn't need to spend a fortune to
run for a championship. After all, anybody can get a loan for the
car, but who wants to refinance the house just to run one season.
The result was the creation of the 600 Modified Series.
The design was focused around two main factors:
A common problem with most racing classes is that over time, rules
are adapted to allow new components or engine rules that favor teams
that have the money to not only experiment with different parts but
put fresh tires with soft compounds. The rules developed by Xcel are
designed to minimize the cost to the owners. New rules will be
created to protect the current owners investment so as to not make
current cars obsolete or reduce their competitiveness. Xcel is
committed to ensuring that this class continues to provide
affordable, close racing.
Consider Xcel when deciding how to spend your next racing buck.
Because, dollar for dollar, the 600 Modified Series offer you the
best value for your investment.
Xcel Chassis
is the premier provider of the most unique and exciting racing class
in the country. Xcel has over ten years of fabricating go-karts,
micro-sprints, legends, midgets, and sprint cars.
